Holiday Desert Delights

Tayva Martinez had a trunk show of her Sparkle Lux Jewelry at Just Modern.  I was lucky enough to model her cufflinks and pendants with fellow realtor Chris Bale.  We also got to wear some fabulous dinner jackets from Deja Vu Vintage Finery.  I picked up a set for myself and also put in an order for one of her sweet little retro-feeling under-the Christmas-tree-Alexander home.  Visit Miss Tayva's website HERE

Lyons Grill: Steak, Well Done

I love leftovers.  Especially from Lyon's English Grill in Palm Springs.  They've been in business since 1945, with the same owner, David Lyons there practically every night.  David turns 100 in April- and is the brother of 40s-50s Hollywood luminary Arthur Lyons.   I think this restaurant may be my favorite in Palm Springs.  The cocktails come with a bucket of backup beverage, the steaks are incredible, the servers are fun (great career waiters), and the musical entertainment ranges from delightful to somewhat of a parody of what you'd expect to hear in an old Palm Springs haunt.  I'm planning on having my birthday party here in January- will you be there?  I am just now enjoying my leftover Beef Wellington at The Silver Suitcase.

Melvyn's Ingleside Inn to Change Ownership?

I heard a rumor- the folks behind new successful enterprises Birba and Alcazar have purchased Melvyn's Ingleside Inn...lots of changes this Fall in Palm Springs.  I really am excited about this lovely place (Greta Garbo stayed here when her film Camille premiered at the nearby movie theater that is now the location of the Palm Springs Follies).  Another great place to stay!
